On Tuesday 21st May the Ashbourne & District held their 2019 AGM at the Smith's Tavern in Ashbourne. Thanks to everyone who joined us including Derby Chairman Greg Maskalick.
With the committee receiving no additional motions the focus for the AGM was on the appointment of committee members. I am pleased to report that with one exception the 2018 / 2019 committee all put themselves forward for the 2019/2020 year including:
- David Etheridge, Branch Chairman
- Mark Grist, Branch and Membership Secretary
- Graham Burke, Festival Chairman
- Colin Terry, Festival Treasurer
- Kevin Woolley, Cider Representative and Locale Coordinator
The role of Social Secretary is now available and we are accepting applications in person at the Branch meetings.
The focus for this year will shift slightly to the protection of pubs within our branch area. The Yew Tree at Ednaston has closed and is under threat of redevelopment as is the Bluebell at Tissington. Pubs remain a vital part of the community and should be protected as community assets.
