From a boarded up pub to a successful local...

Last year we were looking at losing The Cock Inn as the pub was closed by Enterprise (now known as ei publican partnerships), boarded up and initial attempts to find out what they intended to do with the premises were met with stoney silence, never a good sign.

However in October we heard that ei public partnerships were going to hold an open day and were actively working on the building, a ray of sunlight appeared.

Bex Burrows and Paul Hotter, from the Ostrich at Longford took on the challenge of reopening the pub, in the process bringing their own, well received, touches. Initially the main bar room was reopened followed by the restaurant room and the creation of a new snug. The back room, which was underused, slowly became a live music room and life truly returned to the pub. It is worth mentioning that all work on the pub is being undertaken by Bex and Paul themselves truly putting their hearts into their business.

Bex and Paul have further plans to develop the pub and have recently started popular new food evenings (I recommend the curries and Sunday lunches) and the continuing music nights and plenty more to come. Add The Cock Inn on Facebook to keep track of the latest music, food and news.

Congratulations.
