The scores are in and counted and we can now announce the winners for the Ashbourne & District branch of CAMRA Pub of the Year 2020!

In first place an establishment that has reawakened over the last 12 months to become the quintisential country pub. Large real open fires, welcoming atmosphere and beer served from the cellar (no pumps here!).
We are pleased to announce The Barley Mow Inn at Kirk Ireton is the winner of the Pub of the Year 2020!

In second place is a craft bar still relatively new to Ashbourne and who have already received Pub of the Season awards and achieved runner up in the Pub of the Year 2019 awards.
We are proud to announce that Maison du Biere have been awarded Highly Commended in the face of strong competition.

The scoring this year was incredibly close with less than two points between first and second place. However, scoring was marred by abuse of the online scoring system introduced for this years awards and therefore only scores from CAMRA members were included in the final resuilts.

The final reasults were:

  • 1st - The Barley Mow Inn, Kirk Ireton
  • 2nd - Maison du Biere, Ashbourne
  • 3rd - The Queen's Vaults, Ashbourne
  • 4th - The Cock Inn, Clifton
  • 5th - The Old Dog, Thorpe
  • 6th - The Greenman, Ashbourne

Certificates will be presented to the winners in the coming weeks. Thank you to everyone who submitted scores.
