With so much news on pubs closing it's good to report that the Yew Tree Inn at Ednaston has reopened after a short closure. We wish the new operators every success and hope to meet them at a future branch meeting or social event.

We are pleased to announce that The Red Lion at Kniveton has won Pub of the Season - Spring 2018! The pub is going from strength to strength with consistently good Real Ale, Real Cider (from Kniveton Cider - naturally!) and good food.

The Red Lion will also be automatically entered into the running for the branch Pub Of The Year, announced in December, and also for an entry in the Good Beer Guide.

It's sad to report that The Yew Tree at Ednaston has closed.

Sharon and Ronan Kerlo took over the running of the The Yew Tree last year but have recently posted on their Facebook page that they have been forced to close the pub following a dispute with the building’s current owner.

Sharon and Ronan brought new furniture and brought the Pizza oven back into use when they took over. With a new drinks offering, wine menu and food made from locally sourced produce the pub was in the process of being turned around returning to it's formed glory when it used to play regular host to a number of the Derby County football players. The pubs future is now uncertain and we will be following developments closely.

We wish Sharon and Ronan all the best for the future.
